Black Brahmas are exceptionally quiet, friendly, gentle, and easy to handle. My grandkids are very comfortable hanging out with them.
Their small pea comb, great size, plumes on their feet and heavy feathering make them almost immune to cold weather.
Hens are good brown egg layers, especially in winter, are likely to set, and make good mothers to their young.
They are long lived with lifespan of 5-8 years (unlike commercial layers).
They are HUGE - one of the biggest breeds - excellent for meat and eggs! They are very quiet chickens making them a good choice for areas where noise is a concern.
